Your Journey Starts With What Matters to You

We don't believe the best safaris begin with a list of national parks. They begin with a conversation.

What have you always wanted to experience? What draws you to Africa? How do you like to travel? What would make you return home thinking about this journey years from now? Once we understand that, we begin designing.

We Live Here

Out2safari grew from something quite simple: a love of East Africa and a belief that there was a more personal way to share it. For us, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda aren't pins on a map. They're places we travel through, return to, talk about, argue over and keep discovering.

We've watched the first light reach Kilimanjaro from Amboseli. Followed rhino tracks on foot in Laikipia. Sat quietly while elephants crossed in front of a vehicle. Driven across the Mara when everybody else seemed to be heading in the opposite direction. Walked through lodges with managers long before deciding whether we'd recommend them to a guest.

And we've learnt something along the way. Knowing East Africa isn't about knowing the names of every lodge.

It's knowing which one is right for you.

We Design Around Experiences, Not Destinations

There is a temptation in safari planning to begin with geography. Three nights here. Two nights there. Another park. Another flight. We approach it differently.

Perhaps what you're really looking for is time alone with your family. Maybe you want to walk rather than spend every day inside a vehicle. You may want extraordinary wildlife but fewer vehicles around you. A chance to understand conservation rather than just photograph it. Or a safari that ends barefoot beside the Indian Ocean with absolutely nowhere to be.

Those conversations determine where we go. The itinerary comes afterwards.

What Luxury Means to Us

Luxury in the bush isn't always what people expect. Of course, a beautiful room matters. So does a good bed, thoughtful food and a glass of something cold at the end of a long day.

But some of the greatest luxuries we've experienced on safari have nothing to do with thread counts.

Time

Not having to rush away from an elephant herd because there's another activity scheduled.

Space

Sitting at a sighting without ten other vehicles around you.

Privacy

A camp small enough to remember how you take your coffee.

Access

Walking somewhere vehicles cannot go. Meeting the person behind a conservation project. Reaching a remote camp by light aircraft rather than losing a day on the road.

People

And perhaps most importantly: people who understand what matters to you without constantly needing to be told.

That's our idea of luxury.

How We Design Your Journey

01

We Listen

Before suggesting a route, we understand you. Who is travelling? What excites you? What doesn't? How active do you want to be? How much time do you have? What level of comfort feels right? And yes, budget matters too. Good planning begins with an honest conversation.

02

We Design

Only then do we begin joining the pieces together. Wildlife. Landscapes. Camps. Guides. Flights. Road journeys. Conservation experiences. Culture. Beach. Most importantly, pace.

03

We Refine

The first itinerary is a conversation, not a finished product. We adjust. Change properties. Slow things down. Add an experience. Remove something that doesn't earn its place. Until the journey feels like yours.

04

We Take Care of the Details

Once you arrive, you shouldn't be thinking about logistics. You should be wondering what made your guide suddenly stop the vehicle and stare into the long grass. We'll take care of everything else.

A Personal Note from Our Founder

I started Out2safari because I wanted to share the Africa I know and love — a place of incredible wildlife, resilient communities and life-changing experiences.

Over the years, I have seen how travel can create opportunities, support conservation and bring people closer together. It is a privilege to work with an amazing team, trusted partners and travel advisors who share this vision.

Whether it is your first time to Africa or your tenth, we will do everything we can to make your journey smooth, memorable and meaningful.

The People Behind Your Safari

A great journey is never created by one person. There is the travel designer asking the questions before you arrive. The reservations team quietly keeping dozens of moving pieces together. The driver waiting when your international flight lands late. The guide who notices the leopard everybody else drove past. The camp team that remembers it's your anniversary without turning it into a performance. The pilot. The ranger. The chef. The people maintaining the vehicle you'll climb into before sunrise.

This is the side of safari we know particularly well. And it has taught us that the quality of a journey is ultimately determined by the quality of the people behind it.

What Our Guests Remember

“We thought the highlight would be the Migration. It wasn't.”

We spent months planning their first family safari around wildlife. Yet when they wrote to us afterwards, the moment everybody kept talking about was an afternoon spent with their guide beside a quiet river watching a herd of elephants arrive one by one.
